Discovering Peace: Yin yoga and Self inquiry
This workshop is dedicated to self discovery; remembering who you truly are.
Through a slow and meditative yoga practice and paying attention to the question 'who/ what am I?' in a contemplative way, we will see that the layers of limiting assumptions and convictions about ourselves and the world start to fall away. When this happens a great space of peace is revealed. This space of Peace is what we timelessly are.
We may have learned that it takes a long and difficult journey to find real and everlasting peace and happiness, but is this really true? Many awakened beings share with us that we are already our true and peaceful Self but that we are not aware of that. It may only take a shift of focus to move beyond the restless thinking mind and become aware of a timeless and peaceful Stillness which we essentially are. This deepening class is an opportunity to recognize our true Self.
The love, peace & joy we can experience in work, relationships and many different situations in our life are always temporary and never guaranteed. We can discover for ourselves that the qualities we all long for, arise from the space of stillness within. When we deeply recognize this we can enjoy and be fully content with our day to day life even more because we clearly see that our peace and happiness are not depending on the ever changing daily circumstances.
We will make a distant-less journey from head to true Heart with meditative yin yoga, self inquiry, and enough room for Q & A.
The Bliss of Being: Breath meditation
In this class we will work with the breath as a tool that will enable us to recognize our ever present peaceful Nature.
After some dynamic warming-up exercises we will practice the simple but profound technique of circular breathing. We will do this while laying down on our backs in a very comfortable way.
During this pranayama we will breath in and out through the mouth in a rather rhythmical way which supplies our bodies with lots of prana. We will gradually build up this breathing exercise so it will feel as an effortless flow that arrises from pure being. Circular breathing is deeply effective and can be done quite active and powerful but also in a gentle way according to what feels right for you in the moment; there is room for everyone to find his/ her own pace of breathing.
If there is any (emotional) tension or stress within the tissues of the body there is a chance of releasing this through circular breathing, leaving the body, heart and mind very open, light and free. After breathing we will sit for meditation in order to recognize ourselves as being the sky-like Awareness in which thoughts and feelings pass by like clouds.
Rest as Awareness: Guided Meditation followed by Q & A
In this meditation we will focus on discovering our true nature. Meditation is not about quieting the mind or controlling our experiences but to abide as what we timelessly are. Through simple and clear pointings and inquiry we will realize that what we essentially are is unbound and peaceful Awareness in which every experience arises and passes. By being that which we can never not be, a deep sense of rest and contentment is experienced. A feeling of being truly at home within ourselves wherever we are.
The meditation will be followed by room for sharing your insights or experiences and Q & A.
